Today we will be opening up the Google Doc shared with us on Thursday. I will show you how to use the "suggesting" mode to make comments on other people's work.  You will:

 1) Highlight your favorite sentence and explain WHY it is your favorite sentence.

 2)  Highlight best example of sight in aqua.

 Highlight best example of touch in pink

 Highlight best example of sound in yellow

 Highlight best example of taste in green

 Highlight  best example of smell
in orange

 The writer may not have all of the five senses.  That's okay!  

 Then, ask the writer TWO questions.  These should be questions that if answered, would make the writing better and more descriptive.  

 Example:
Can you think of a simile to describe what it felt like?
Can you think of a more powerful verb than ate to describe how you ate it?



 We will then write a "showing writing" piece. Mrs. K will give you some ideas.

Good Morning!  Today, if needed, we will take a few more minutes to finish our rough drafts of our "name" pieces.  Don't worry if you don't love yours.  It is a rough draft.  We will be writing a few more pieces, and then you will pick ONE to polish and perfect. Then, we will look at two images and take notes on what we see.  We will be keen observers.  Then, you will write a story or description of what you see in the picture. You may take on any point of view you wish!    Afterwards, I will tell you what's "really going on" in the picture!
